Celebrating the publication of Rebellious Women

STAHS Theatre Company was delighted to celebrate the publication of Rebellious Women today. An impassioned, unsentimental and sharp-witted tribute to the suffragette cause, written by playwright Beth Flintoff, and first performed at STAHS in March 2024.
The play was written as part of the Write the Girl initiative, which seeks to create meaningful plays for female casts, putting them at the heart of the action.Ìý It explores the remarkable story of Wimbledon suffragettes Rose Lamartine Yates and Edith Begbie and centres on events including the 1911 ‘No Votes, No Census’ protests.
